The Salvation Army in Uppsala, Sweden, recorded a 50% increase in young people using its services in 2016 compared to the year before. Per Lyredal, the operational manager for one Salvation Army centre in the city notes the higher prevalence of service users born in the 1980s and 90s, and suggests that the number of young service users is still to increase. Lyredal points to new drugs such as synthetic cannabinoids becoming increasingly common among services users, putting new demands on staff. Read more on the issue here.
