Following a report by the Financial Times that revealed that The European Commission will not open an infringement case against Italy for discriminating against Roma people in the field of housing. Amnesty have highlighted the case of the forced eviction of 300 Roma people from the Giugliano camp last year, as well as the eviction at the Gianturco settlement in Naples this month, as reasons why the Commission should take stronger action against discrimination against Roma in Italy.
