A recent report by UK- based federation Homeless Link has noted that recent changes to welfare systems are contributing to a growth in homelessness among people aged 16-25. While a majority of Youth Homelessness cases remain a result of familial breakdown, there is a concerning rise in the number homeless youth quoting recent changes to the welfare system, such as delays in Universal Credit payments and sanctions on the Local Housing Allowance, as a major contributing factor to their situation.
