How to use transnational human rights jurisprudence and monitoring to facilitate the implementation of the Social Rights Pillar?
On 29 April FEANTSA participated at the Annual Convention for Inclusive Growth (ACIG) on the European Pillar of Social Rights. In the afternoon, FEANTSA organized a side-event with the support of PICUM and the UNOHCHR called: “How to use transnational human rights jurisprudence and monitoring to facilitate the implementation of the Social Rights Pillar?”
The goal of the side event was to better understand how to use existing human rights mechanisms and case-law to give content to the different principles contained in the Pillar. FEANTSA (through the Housing Rights Watch) has conducted an in-depth analysis of transnational case law on the right to housing, which could be the basis for minimum standards for Principle 19 (Right to housing and assistance for the homeless).
