A report by XAPSLL revealed that despite of the increase in social services available to homeless people in Barcelona, the number of rough sleepers continues to increase. Approximately 1000 people sleep rough every night in the city.
The report stresses the difficulties many people face. Rental prices are high and homeless people are often stigmatised and discriminated, especially when they are not of Spanish origin.
