Focus Ireland has released a new report on preventing family homelessness. Based on the experiences of families having used Focus Ireland's services, Keeping A Home describes five strategies to prevent families from becoming homeless. The authors stress that these short-term solutions cannot address the structural causes of family homelessness, such as the absence of regulation within the private rental market and the absence of affordable rental properties and quality social housing. A significant structural change is needed, one that needs to take place at Ireland's national policy level.
