The Wales Audit Office has released an evaluation report of local authorities' responses to homelessness. The Welsh Housing Act of 2014 requires local authorities and their partners to focus on preventing homelessness. The report finds that most local authorities do not manage to effectively design and implement prevention strategies. The report also states that though they generally receive advice, not all (potentially) homeless people receive the help they need. They are offered very different services, depending on where they seek help. The Wales Audit Office calls on local authorities to give more attention to prevention in their strategic responses to homelessness.
