The FEANTSA Youth Study sessions over the past five years have provided an opportunity for young professionals from across Europe to come together to identify key issues in tackling youth homelessness and propose a series of solutions. The study sessions have led to a growing and dynamic alumni network with membership from across a wide variety of fields including social work, youth work, academics, students, law, architecture, public policy (local and national civil services), NGOs and others.

The past study sessions have focused on taking a human rights approach to preventing youth homelessness while also developing and implementing an advocacy strategy aimed at raising awareness for youth homelessness among policy makers.

FEANTSA is proud to partner with ILGA-Europe & True Colours United to host this years study session in November 2019 with the Council of Europe's Youth Department, which will focus on LGBTIQ homelessness and how homeless services and the LGBTIQ community can work together to prevent and end LGBTIQ homelessness. Our five day training course will provide the opportunity to deep dive on LGBTIQ homelessness and co-create solutions between homeless and LGBTIQ services.

Our 2019 Study Session is a joint study session with ILGA-Europe and we are eager to receive applications from both homeless and LGBTIQ services. The application form allows applicants to reference another organisation applying from their city or country. Where a homeless and an LGBTIQ organisation apply for the study session from the same context they will be given special attention in the selection of participants with the view of empowering these services to partner beyond the study session to support vulnerable LGBTIQ youth.

Please note the course covers travel, accomodation and meals for the week, participants will pay a EURR50 registrering fee to the Council of Europe. The fee will be deducted from the travel reimbursement.
