To mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, FEANTSA will be launching our toolkit on how social services can make their spaces more inclusive, affirming and safer.
During the official launch we will hear direct from service who will share how they deliver services to meet the needs of LGBTIQ people.
We'll be hearing from:
Adam Spollen, Focus Ireland - Staff Training: Adam will share how Focus Ireland and Belong To have developed a training programme to be rolled out over three years across Dublin region with a network of 30+ services working around prevention, emergency accommodation, long-term accommodation etc.
Vesna Štefanec, Ljubljana Pride Association, Programme Reviews: Vesna will share how Ljubljana Pride mapped the needs of LGBTIQ people when it comes to homelessness and housing exclusion, and how they developed direct responses.
Tina Royle, LLamau & Alex Thomas, Viva LGBT - Policy Reviews: Tina and Alex will share the process of reviewing inclusion policies for social services such as the use of language in documents, use of pronouns, the requirement of (and conversations about) government IDs and recruitment of diverse teams that reflect LGBTIQ people.
