The objective of the Fondation Abbé Pierre is to end homelessness, and to this end they have sent a six-point action plan to the French presidential candidates on how to end homelessness in the next ten years. Highlighting that the number of homeless people in France now stands at 143 000, the foundation argues that investing in reducing homelessness now will save money due to the social and economic costs of housing exclusion. Important steps to take include preventing more evictions, and increasing the rate at which social housing is built. See more on the story here.
